Authorities are investigating a crash that killed two people involved at I-35 in Gainesville, TX on May 5th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 5:13 a.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Journey headed northbound is alleged to have colliding with a Chevrolet Silverado. Reports say the Silverado was involved in a previous collision and was disabled across approaching travel lanes prior to the collision. Following the collision, reports say the Chevrolet was also struck by an approaching Nissan Titan, fatally injuring 63-year-old Daniel Coffey. Authorities say the driver of the Silverado was also fatally injured while a 55-year-old passenger was seriously injured. Additional information was not available.
