What Happened

Maricopa County Sheriff's Office officials are investigating an accident that left one dead and injured three others in Avondale, AZ on December 29th, 2018. Police say the accident happened at the intersection of Avondale Blvd and Lower Buckeye Rd and involved a pickup truck and semi-truck. The pickup reportedly rear-ended the semi-truck. A female passenger in the pickup was pronounced dead at the scene. Another female passenger was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. The male driver and a male passenger were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the semi-truck was uninjured.
