What Happened

California Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed one person at Hwy 71 in Chino Hills, CA on May 6th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 8:30 when a northbound box truck sideswiped a vehicle occupied by Caltrans workers. The vehicle is said to have traveled down into an embankment where their vehicle and the workers were located, striking two individuals. One of the two suffered fatal injuries while the other was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. Authorities say the box truck driver was allegedly not impaired at the time of the incident and had no additional information available.
