California Highway Patrol officials are investigating a collision that killed a man at Fairview Rd near Hollister, CA on September 26th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 7:29 a.m. A Buick sedan operated by  77-year-old Joseph William Smith reportedly collided with the rear of a tractor-trailer making a left turn from private property on northbound Fairview Court. The Buick became trapped under the truck and Smith suffered serious injuries that he died from at the scene. The truck driver was not injured. Additional information was not immediately available.
