What Happened

Georgia State Patrol officials are investigating a crash that injured a child at GA 365 in Alto, GA on May 2nd, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 3:35 p.m. According to investigators, a Kia Soul operated by 51-year-old Georgina Spivey was traveling behind a logging truck before colliding with the rear of the truck. Authorities allege the Kia may have been following too closely prior to the collision. The collision left an 8-year-old child in the vehicle with serious injures. She was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Spivey was also hospitalized with injuries believed to be less serious in nature. The truck driver was not injured.
