What Happened

Idaho State Police are investigating an incident that killed one person at Hwy 6 near Hwy 9 in Potlatch, ID on April 18th, 2024. Authorities say a logging truck headed westbound on Highway 6 performed a left turn at Hwy 9. In the process, a log carried by the truck is said to have veered into a westbound lane, crashing through the windshield of a Toyota Tacoma operated by 55-year-old Andrew Abbott. Reports indicate Abbott was fatally injured in the incident. Reports say the truck continued southbound before later being located in a nearby city. Additional information was not available.
