What Happened

Grundy County Sheriff's Office officials have information on a crash that killed one person at Grove Rd in Grundy County, IL on November 15th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 7 p.m. According to investigators, a semi-truck headed southbound Grove Rd allegedly failed to stop at a posted stop sign before proceeding into the Sherrill Rd intersection. Officials say the truck collided with a pickup truck headed eastbound on Sherrill, leaving 63-year-old Kenneth A. Bolte with fatal injuries. The semi-truck operator was identified as Jermaine Renix, who reports allege was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed. Additional information was not available.
