What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a woman and child at Hwy 54 and 37th Ave in Kiowa County, KS on January 1st, 2023. According to investigators, a Kia Soul operated by 40-year-old Adrienne Deal was reportedly disabled in an eastbound lane of travel. As it sat disabled, a semi-truck operated by 38-year-old Omar Mohamoud was traveling eastbound before colliding with the disabled Kia. Deal was killed in the collision. A child in the vehicle was also killed. The driver of the truck was not injured. Additional details were not available.
