Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed one of a trio of bicyclists at FM 787 near Rye, TX on October 30th, 2021. Officials say the incident happened just after 11:05 a.m. A Ford Escape operated by 60-year-old Michael J Weaver is accused of failing to control its speed and colliding with a group of bicyclists. One, identified as 51-year-old Kent J. Wosepka, was hospitalized with injuries he later died from. The others were identified as Elizabeth O'Brien and Barbara Ferrell. They were hospitalized in serious condition. Further details were not available.
