What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed a person at Western Kentucky Parkway in Caneyville, KY on September 5th, 2022. Officials say the incident happened around 12:10 p.m. According to their investigation, a dump truck is said to have suffered from mechanical issues that caused the truck to become disabled in a lane of travel. A Ford F-350 operated by 59-year-old Jeffery Hammonds was headed westbound before changing lanes and colliding with the rear of the dump truck. The impact caused fatal injuries to dump truck operator, 49-year-old Barry Embry. Additional information was not immediately available.
