What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed a motorcyclist at Hwy 182 in St Martin Parish, LA on May 1st, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 8:30 a.m. Investigators say a westbound 18-wheeler was turning right onto Hwy 92 from Hwy 182 when it collided with a motorcycle. They allege the motorcycle was in process of passing the truck before the collision. The operator of the motorcycle, identified as 57-year-old John Leblanc, was taken to an area hospital with injuries he later died from. The 18-wheeler operator was not injured and police believe did not display signs of impairment at the scene. Additional information was not provided.
