What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at I-20 in Minden, LA on February 3rd, 2024. Police say the incident happened as a vehicle operated by 20-year-old Marcus Baggett was allegedly eastbound. For unknown reasons, the vehicle is said to have turned and began heading westbound while in an eastbound lane. At some point, reports say the vehicle collided head-on with a second vehicle, operated by 20-year-old Savanah Shelton. The impact is said to have caused the vehicle to catch fire and left Shelton fatally injured. A passenger in Shelton's vehicle was hospitalized with serious injuries, sources say. Two other vehicles involved in the crash left five others with injuries believed to be minor in nature. Baggett was arrested on multiple charges, including vehicular homicide and vehicular negligent injury, according to reports. Additional information was not available.
