What Happened

Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office authorities are investigating a crash that killed a man at Harris Hill Rd in Poland, ME on January 2nd, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 7:40 a.m. According to investigators, a vehicle operated by 41-year-old Gary D Hesketh is said to have collided with a tractor-trailer allegedly parked on the side of the road. Officers were not able to say how the crash happened, however, they add that Hesketh's vehicle caught fire in the collision. Hesketh died at the scene. The other driver involved was not injured.
