What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed a driver at I-287 in Westchester County, NY on January 18th, 2023. Investigators are saying it involved a tractor-trailer and at least one other vehicle. They were not able to say what caused the accident. They did share that the truck went over an overpass onto the expressway below. A van below crashed while attempting to escape being crushed as the truck fell. The driver of the truck, identified as 42-year-old Nathan L. Montalvo, died while the van operator was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. Authorities have not share additional information at this time.
