What Happened

State Police have identified the people killed in a crash at NC Hwy 33 in Edgecombe County, NC on October 28th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around around 1:15 p.m. According to investigators, passenger car operated by 50-year-old Veronica Williams was involved in a head-on collision with a tractor-trailer that occurred under unclear circumstances. Both Williams and her passenger, identified as 19-year-old 19-year-old Deasia Washington, were killed in the collision. Police do not currently believe speed or alcohol were factors in the crash and had no additional information to share.
