What Happened

Authorities are investigating a collision that killed a motorcyclist at County Rd 35A and I-75 in Shelby County, OH on April 17th, 2024. Polices say the incident happened around 7:13 p.m. Investigators say a motorcycle traveling along with two other motorcycles was headed southbound at an I-75 on-ramp. At the same time, an Amazon delivery van was northbound at County Rd 25A was allegedly turning left onto the I-75 on-ramp. The van is said to have turned ahead of one or more motorcycle, a collision occurring as a result. Reports say one motorcyclists, identified as 31-year-old Lee Andrew Watson, was ejected from the vehicle and seriously injured. Watson was taken to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries. The operator of the Amazon van, identified as 23-year-old Bryce James Swafford, was arrested under suspicion of being under the influence. Additional information was not available.
