What Happened

Oregon State Police are investigating a crash that killed a driver at I-5 in Woodburn, OR on August 15th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 2:40 p.m. According to investigators, a Honda Civic headed southbound on I-5 is said to have performed a lane change into a center lane where it entered into the path of a semi-truck. The two vehicles collided and the driver of the Honda, identified as 18-year-old Jacob Hernandez-Arellano, suffered fatal injuries. His passenger was hospitalized with what are described as non-life-threatening injuries. The truck driver was uninjured. Additional details were not available.
