What Happened

South Carolina Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at Hwy 178 and Taylor Pond Rd in Dorchester County, SC on April 18th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 12:45 p.m. According to investigators, a Toyota sedan headed westbound on Hwy 178 was turning southbound into a private drive when it was struck by an approaching tow truck. The driver of the Toyota, identified as 66-year-old Angelo Singleton, was fatally injured in the incident. A passenger in the vehicle, who was not publicly identified, was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. Reports say the driver of the tow truck was uninjured.
