What Happened

South Dakota Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed three people at I-90 in Hartford, SD in August 14th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 4:16 p.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Ram headed westbound is alleged to have struck several vehicles prior to veering into an eastbound lane. From there, police say the vehicle collided head-on with an RV, the impact causing the vehicles to catch fire. The driver of both vehicles and a passenger in the RV were all killed. Police identified the two drivers as 32-year-old Ram operator, Day Qabsees and 58-year-old RV operator, Stephen Hudson. The passenger was identified as 60-year-old Brenda Hudson. Additional information was not made available.
