Kingsport Police Department officials are investigating a multi-vehicle accident at I-81 in Kingsport, TN on August 28th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 4:20 p.m. during heavy traffic. A tractor-trailer slowing in traffic conditions collided with the rear of another tractor-trailer leading to a chain reaction collision involving four trucks. 53-year-old Kevin P Carlton, the driver of the third truck involved, was hospitalized with serious injuries.
