What Happened

Authorities have information on a crash that killed two people at FM 741 in Kaufman County, TX on March 2nd, 2024. Investigators say it happened around 4:03 p.m. According to police, a GMC Sierra was southbound on FM 741 before leaving its lane of travel and veering into a construction zone. Reports say the vehicle was traveling halfway on the main travel lanes and halfway in the construction zone, striking construction barrels before making an abrupt turn in an attempt to return to the road. Reports continue that the vehicle entered into a northbound lane where it collided with a Ford Fusion, causing the GMC to overturn and the Ford to veer from the roadway. The driver of the Ford, identified as 37-year-old Aaron Brown, was taken to an area hospital, along with two other passengers. Brown later died of his injuries, as did a 1-year-old child in the vehicle. 34-year-old passenger, Tiffany Brown, suffered injuries believed to be non-life-threatening in nature. The driver of the GMC, who was not publicly identified, was allegedly uninjured. Sources indicate that driver was charged with Intoxication Manslaughter. Additional information was not available.
