What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a multi-vehicle crash that killed a person at US 377 in Tioga, TX on December 6th, 2022.  Police say the incident happened as a vehicle waiting to make a left turn onto Emberson Chapel Rd was rear-ended by an SUV. The impact pushed the first vehicle into oncoming traffic where it was struck by two other vehicles. Killed in the crash was 52-year-old Bernabe Rodriguez, who was a passenger in the stopped vehicle. The driver of the stopped vehicle, 28-year-old Erik Rodriguez was hospitalized with serious injuries. A second passenger in the same vehicle, 41-year-old Carlos Flores, was also hospitalized with serious injuries. Two others, including 37-year-old Jamie Clark and 63-year-old Kathryn Cassella were also hospitalized. One person involved was treated at the scene. Additional information was not available.
