What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured two people at US Hwy 59 in Wharton, TX on October 15th, 2022. Police believe it happened around 9:44 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford Fusion operated by 24-year-old Kenneth Thomas Jr was headed northbound on Hwy 59 before losing control and overturning into a ditch. The crash left a a 23-year-old passenger, Brianna Baeza, with serious injuries that she was hospitalized for treatment of. Thomas had less serious injuries. Police allege suspicion of possible alcohol involvement in the crash.
