What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at FM 8 in Eastland County, TX on April 2nd, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 11:47 p.m. According to investigators, a Jeep Compass was headed northeast on FM 8 before losing control for unclear reasons and leaving the roadway. Reports claim the vehicle struck nearby dumpsters before veering through an intersection and into a north ditch, going over a nearby barbed wire fence. Authorities say the driver, 31-year-old Catelyn Jordan, was either ejected from the vehicle or able to exit the vehicle on her own and was in or a near an eastbound lane at FM 2214 as a pickup truck approached sometime later. The truck is said to have struck Jordan in the roadway just after midnight. Jordan was pronounced deceased at the scene by authorities. Additional details were not available.
