What Happened

Gun Barrel City Police have information on a crash that killed a child at South Gun Barrel Ln in Gun Barrel City, TX on July 27th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 2:21 a.m. Investigators say a vehicles was being operated by an alleged intoxicated driver before it collided with an unidentified juvenile. The juvenile suffered fatal injuries and the vehicle involved is said to have fled the scene. Reports indicate that 30-year-old Casey Dylan Jeffrey and 30-year-old Brooke Leann South were taken into custody in connection with the accident. Police say Jeffrey was arrested on an intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle charge.
