What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at State Hwy 35 in Alvin, TX on March 27th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 4:08 p.m. Investigators are saying a Jeep Cherokee was northbound on State Hwy 35, nearing the intersection with FM 517. The vehicle is said to have disregarded a red light and entered into the intersection, colliding with an eastbound Hyundai Veracruz proceeding through the intersection. The impact is said to have caused the Jeep to spin and strike a second Jeep nearby. The driver of the second Jeep, identified as 62-year-old Connie Hall, was seriously injured, reports say. The driver and passenger in the Hyundai had possible, unconfirmed injuries while the driver of the first Jeep was allegedly uninjured. Sources indicate the driver of the first Jeep was charged with Intoxication Assault and Driving While Intoxicated with Child Under 15. Additional information was not available.
