What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at FM 565 in Chambers County, TX on February 20th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 5:51 a.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Impala operated by 32-year-old Darion Nelson was headed eastbound on FM 565 as a tractor-trailer operated by a 41-year-old Humble man was exiting a private driveway. As the truck attempting to enter FM 565, authorities allege it failed to yield and traveled into the path of the Chevrolet. The vehicles collided, leaving Nelson with injuries police described as being serious. The Humble man was reportedly unharmed. Authorities recommended a Failure to Yield charge against the Humble man.
