What Happened

Lufkin Police are investigating a crash that killed a bicyclist at Lufkin, TX on July 30th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 6:17 a.m. According to investigators, 46-year-old Daryl Taylor was riding a bicycle in westbound traffic when he was struck by another vehicle from the rear. Following the collision, the vehicle involved fled the scene, leaving Taylor behind with serious injuries. Police say Taylor was taken to an area hospital for treatment and later died from his injuries. Investigators are searching for the driver of the vehicle and did not have additional information to share.
