What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed three people and injured a fourth on TX 243 near John Wayne Rd in Kaufman County, TX on November 2nd, 2019. A Saturn SUV reportedly crossed into oncoming traffic for unknown reasons and collided head-on with a Chevy Equinox. The Saturn driver, 23-year-old Emiliano Lara was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Chevy, 78-year-old John Fuller and 75-year-old Cheryl Brumfield also died at the scene. A second Chevy passenger, 74-year-old Brenda Fuller, was hospitalized with serious injuries.
