What Happened

El Paso Police are investigating a crash that killed one person involved at Mesa St in El Paso, TX on April 28th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 1:52 a.m. According to investigators, a GMC Sierra headed northbound was involved in a collision with a westbound Dodge Charger. Authorities claim one of the vehicles may have run a red light prior to the collision, which left 23-year-old Dodge operator, Eric Leal Jr, seriously injured. Also seriously injured was 26-year-old Dodge passenger, Devan Michael Lovelace, seriously injured. Reports say Leal passed away from his injuries. Reports say the GMC fled the scene of the accident. Additional information was not immediately available.
