What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash at US 290 in Bastrop County, TX on September 8th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 11:36 a.m. A Jeep Liberty operated by 44-year-old Eric White is accused of failing to control its speed and striking a tractor-trailer turning into a parking lot. The impact pushed the tractor-trailer into a Kia Optima operated by a 30-year-old Austin woman. She and her passenger were not injured. The truck driver was also no injured. White suffered serious injuries and was charged with Failure to Control Speed.
