Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at Mile 17 Rd in Hidalgo County, TX on March 18th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 3:53 a.m. According to investigators, a Polaris Ranger ATV operated by 18-year-old Ezequel Alvarez was headed eastbound at an alleged unsafe speed when it veered from the road and lost control. While attempting to return to the road, the vehicle went into a skid and entered a barrow ditch before rolling and partially ejecting and pinning Alvarez from the vehicle. Alvarez suffered fatal injuries in the crash. Additional information was not immediately available.
