What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured two people at US Hwy 62 in Lubbock, TX on October 19th, 2022. Police say the incident happened when a pickup truck allegedly failed to yield and pulled into the path of school bus before the two collided. The pickup truck driver, identified as 31-year-old Eli Garcia and bus driver, identified as 47-year-old Gary McClendon, were both injured. Three adults and 33 children were aboard the bus at the time of the accident and police say an undisclosed number of those individuals suffered minor injuries. Additional details were not available.
