What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a man at Hwy 36 and Rice St in Rosenberg, TX on October 26th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 8:09 a.m. According to investigators, 66-year-old George Carpenter was walking through the Hwy 36 and Rice St intersection when he was struck by a Ford Mustang. Carpenter was hospitalized with injuries he later died from. Reports say the Ford operator, identified as 19-year-old Gener Castellanos-Moreno, was arrested on a Failure to Stop and Render Aid charge. Additional information was not immediately available.
