What Happened

Area authorities have information on single-vehicle crash that killed a driver at I-20 in Midland County, TX on March 19th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 2:07 a.m. According to investigators, a Ford Explorer operated by 21-year-old Herminio Contreras Alonso was traveling eastbound on I-20 prior to veering from the road. Police believe the vehicle struck a rock berm at a set of railroad tracks before traveling overt the tracks and landing upside down. The crash left Contreras Alonso with fatal injuries. Authorities do not have any additional information to disclose at this time.
