What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at Wallisville Rd in Houston, TX on February 19th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 1:38 a.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Rav4 operated by 22-year-old Sofia Yerena was headed southbound on Maxey Rd and turning onto Wallisville Rd. Police allege the vehicle disregarded a traffic signal and collided with a motorcycle headed northbound on Maxey. The collision left the motorcyclist, identified as 63-year-old Howard Perkins, with serious injuries. Perkins was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries. Officers say Serena and a passenger were not injured and allege suspicion of possible alcohol involvement in the crash.
