Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at US 81 in Wise County TX on July 8th, 2023 Police say the incident happened around 12:22 a.m. According to investigators, a Mercedes-Benz S operated by 45-year-old James Cooper was northbound on US 81 when the vehicle went into a skid while approaching a curve in the road. The vehicle then left the road and hit a construction sign before overturning. Cooper was partially ejected from the vehicle in the rollover, leaving Cooper with fatal injuries.
