What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that injured three people at US 87 in Lubbock, TX on April 13th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 3:51 a.m. According to investigators, a Honda Civic headed eastbound on County Rd 7500 is alleged to have failed to yield right of way to a southbound Chevrolet Suburban, the vehicles colliding as a result. Reports say the driver of the Suburban, identified as 23-year-old Evelyn Martinez, had non-life-threatening injuries. Her passenger, 18-year-old Jasmine Martinez, was more seriously injured. The driver of the Honda, who was not publicly identified, had minor injuries, authorities say, and was charged with Intoxication Assault. Additional information was not immediately available.
