What Happened

Texas Department of Safety Officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at Loop 338 in Ector County, TX on August 1st, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 2:48 a.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Ram 1500 operated by 18-year-old Jason Balderrama was headed westbound Loop 228 when it veered from the road into private property on the south side of the road. It went through a fence a struck a parked, unoccupied flatbed trailer before spinning into a telephone pole. Reports indicate Balderrama was seriously injured and that responding officers alleged possible alcohol involvement in the accident.
