What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed one person at I-30 and Belt Line Rd in Grand Prairie, TX on June 2nd, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 2 a.m. According to investigators, a vehicle allegedly operated by 19-year-old Armando Tovar Jr was making a u-turn before colliding with a tree. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as 25-year-old Jose Alexandro Alvarez, was hospitalized with injuries he later died from. Tovar was treated for minor injuries, police say. Sources indicate Tovar was charged with Intoxication Manslaughter. Additional information was not available.
