What Happened

A crash between a van and tractor-trailer left one driver seriously injured at FM 3338 in Webb County, TX on February 14th, 2023. Officers place the accident happening around 10:10 p.m. According to investigators, a Mazda van operated by 63-year-old Jose Salazar Carranza was headed northbound on FM 3338. At the same time, a tractor-trailer operated by 36-year-old Eduardo Salazar was turning left from a southbound lane onto a private road. Police allege the truck failed to yield to the van in the turn, leading to a collision between the two. The crash is said to have left Carranza with serious injuries while Salazar was not injured, according to authorities. Officers recommended a charge of Failure to Yield Row against Salazar.
