What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed two people at State Hwy 17 in Reeves County, TX on April 4th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 9:16 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford F-150 was northbound before allegedly passing another vehicle without enough clearance before colliding head-on with a GMC Sierra. Reports indicate the driver of the GMC, identified as 22-year-old Juan Lopez and 41-year-old passenger, Luis Zamora, were both killed. Sources indicate a Criminal Negligent Homicide charge was recommended and/or issued against the driver of the Ford. Additional information was not immediately available.
