What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a man at FM 2906 in Gregg County, TX on October 22nd, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 6:53 p.m. According to investigators, a GMC Terrain was eastbound on FM 2906 before allegedly failing to yield right of way during a left turn. Police say the vehicle turned ahead of a westbound Nissan Rogue operated by 46-year-old Juan Rodriguez Calzada. The two vehicles collided, w the Nissan spinning into a northern ditch and the GMC in a southern ditch. Calzada suffered fatal injuries at the scene while the GMC operator suffered serious injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
