What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at US 67 in Venus, TX on March 9th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 1:50 a.m. Investigators say a GMC Sierra C1500 was westbound, approaching a Ford F-350 that was also towing a trailer. Reports say the Ford was previously stopped at a traffic signal before beginning to proceed through the intersection with FM 2738. While doing so, the vehicle was reportedly rear-ended by the GMC, the collision leaving 18-year-old GMC operator, Kaden Montgomery, fatally injured. The other driver, who was not publicly identified, was allegedly uninjured. Additional information was not available.
