What Happened

Authorities have information on a crash that killed one person involved at FM 518 in Pearland, TX on January 17th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 7:51 a.m. According to investigators, a Ford Explorer is alleged to have failed to control its speed prior to colliding with the rear of a westbound Jeep Cherokee. Following the initial collision, reports say the Ford collided head-on with a Porsche Cayenne, pushing that vehicle into a Toyota Tacoma. Reports indicate the driver of the Ford, identified as 47-year-old Khaledah Abu Safieh, was killed. The driver of the Porsche, identified as 41-year-old Heleace Beasley, was seriously injured while the driver of the Toyota, identified as 34-year-old Ashley Vargas, had possible injuries.
