What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials have information on a crash that killed two people at State Hwy 111 near Yoakum, TX on October 15th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 11:30 a.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet 3500 operated by 19-year-old Kolson Jacobs was headed westbound before veering into the path of a Chevrolet Silverado operated by 18-year-old Connor Ratcliff. The impact caused the 3500 to spin into a ditch and the Silverado into a an eastbound shoulder. Jacobs suffered fatal injuries at the scene. A passenger, identified as 18-year-old Lorin Miller, was hospitalized with injuries she later died from. Ratcliff was also hospitalized in critical condition. Additional information was not immediately available.
