What Happened

Authorities have information on a crash that killed a driver at State Hwy 97 in Atascosa County, TX on March 13th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 9:30 a.m. According to investigators, a Honda Fit headed southbound is said to have possibly missed a red light before proceeding into the intersection with I-37. The vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer in the intersection, the impact caused the tractor-trailer to lose control and veer through a guardrail and down an embankment where it overturned. The driver of the Honda, identified as 58-year-old Lucinda Cochran, was fatally injured while the tractor-trailer operator, who was not publicly identified, had serious injuries.
