What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed two people at TX 161 in Irving, TX on June 5th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 1:59 a.m. According to investigators, a Nissan Sentra operated by 31-year-old Joel Calderon was headed southbound on Hwy 161 at an alleged high rate of speed prior to colliding with a southbound motorcycle. Both occupants of the motorcycle, identified as 28-year-old Luis Ramos Torres and 29-year-old Hilary Rivera Febus, suffered fatal injuries in the collision. Calderon was not injured. Reports indicate charges for Murder and Resisting Arrest were recommended and/or issued.
