Officials say the accident happened around 9:30 a.m. A semi-truck began to slow down due to mechanical failure. A passenger vehicle driven by an unidentified 32-year-old man was traveling at highway speed and collided with the rear of the truck. The man was hospitalized with critical injuries. The other driver was not injured.
