What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at US 77 in Fayette County, TX on December 10th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 2:14 a.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by an unnamed 36-year-old Glidden, TX man was going southbound on US 77. An Acura RL operated by 49-year-old Matthew Mewhinney Sutton was headed southbound at the same time. Police say the Acura veered into a northbound lane and struck the truck before coming to rest in a nearby ditch. Sutton is believed to have been seriously injured while the other driver was not injured. Additional information was not available.
